Before You Give Access
When you grant access to your account, realize you're essentially giving someone full control of your advertising capabilities; your content, your brand, and (most importantly) your credit card information. Be careful who you give access to and periodically check your account to ensure only appropriate individuals or organizations have access (with only the permissions needed).
Within this guide, we'll show you how to get setup on Meta Business Manager and give Aducate agency access to ensure successful mentorship courses. Please note, if you've registered for 101, 301, or 501 level courses - this step is crucial to ensure you take full advantage of the program. If you're not setup properly ahead of time, you'll miss the opportunity to learn on your native account.
Setting up Business Manager
- Go to https://business.facebook.com/ and setup a Meta Business account (or login to your existing one). A Business Account is completely different than a Meta page; you'll connect the two later down the line, but you'll need to have a business account setup first.
- If you need to create an account, you'll login with your Meta account first to begin the process.
- From here, you'll create a business portfolio. You'll need your business name and business email.
- Once you have access, you'll arrive at the Business Manager dashboard. This screen provides a quick high-level overview of all your business assets including pages, ad accounts, and more.
Connecting your assets
- From the Business Manager dashboard, click the small 'wheel' button in the bottom left hand portion of the screen to go to the 'Settings' page. Here we'll connect all your assets and get your Business account setup.
- To give Aducate access, simply click on 'Partners' under 'Users' in the left hand menu. From there, click 'Add' and 'Give a partner access to your assets' and paste the Aducate ID: 674164651560020. Once this is done, confirm with the team this step has been completed. When confirmed, you'll need to give Aducate access to your assets by clicking 'Share Assets' and selecting everything including Ad Account access and Page access.
- To connect your existing Meta Page, click on 'Pages' on the left menu and click 'Add'. You'll connect your page and give users access to page roles and responsibilities here.
- To setup your Meta Ad account, click 'Ad Accounts' in the left menu and click 'Add', and 'Add an Account'. Once that's created and done, you can assign roles and responsibilities within this section.
- To connect your Instagram account, click 'Instagram Accounts' in the left menu and follow the instructions to connect. You'll need this completed to run ads on Instagram.
- To connect your eCommerce platform, click 'Commerce Accounts' in the left menu. You may need to navigate to your platform, like Shopify, to complete the setup.
Last but not least, you'll want to ensure the following sections are updated prior to starting your session.
- Billing and payments in the left hand section; you'll need to have a valid credit card connected to run ads.
- Business info: Make sure all your business information is up to date, and verify your account if possible.
- Pixel Setup: If you're taking a 301 or 501 level course, the Aducate team will handle all pixel setup and connectivity. If you want to setup yourself, you can follow the instructions below.
- Go to Events Manager.
- Click the Data sources icon on the left side of the page.
- Select the pixel you want to set up.
- Click Continue pixel setup.
- Click Use a partner.
- Select a partner from the list.
- Follow the onscreen setup instructions (there are also onscreen instructions for doing this straight from your Partner Integrations page under your Events Manager.)
If you want clarification or assistance, make sure you've given Aduate access and we can jump in to troubleshoot if needed. The process should be relatively straightforward to get everything setup, but we're here to help if needed.
Good luck!
